Members of The Live-In Homecare Information Hub were thrilled to attend a reception hosted by the National Office for Animal Health (NOAH), at The House of Lords on Tuesday 20th January. The event celebrated the beneficial relationship between the elderly and their pets.
This was a great opportunity to meet and speak with influential people about the life enhancing option of live-in homecare and the positive benefits felt by the elderly, when living at home with their beloved animals.
Baroness Frances D’Souza, Lord Speaker of the House of Lords, gave a speech thanking all the charities and animal organisations present for their work and particularly emphasised live-in care as a wonderful care solution.
Our providers also met Tracey Crouch MP who has a special interest in both dementia and pets and is involved in committees for both.
Charities including the Cats Protection League, Dementia Dogs, Our Special Friends, The Society of Companion Animal Studies and many others were also in attendance – all promoting the emotional and health-giving value cats and dogs can give older owners.
